Changes in class in Diablo 2: Resurrected are the main goal of update 2.4. The ladder season is coming and Blizzard is updating its meta-game to D2R Ladder Items make sure it feels fresh. There are too many changes to summarize and it's clear that all three skills trees across all seven classes have at least a small changes. The Druid has seen perhaps the most significant changes that have improved its casting, melee, and summoning.
The Necromancer received perhaps the least impactful changes, though small boosts to Bone, Weaken skillsand Skeleton Magicians can be notable.The Rune Words may be as good as the most significant class changes in regards to meta-shifting. The new Rune Words for blades, staves, claws and crossbows and bows, will provide a variety of building options that players can play around with. Two different helm Rune Words which will improve mana management and the second a strong defensive rune for both magical and combative attacks.
Beyond these two areas and these Horadric Cube recipes for upgrading set pieces, Blizzard has even more amazing changes. Twelve different set pieces have been buffed to varying extents, Act III now requires players to smash the Compelling Orb to access the Durance of Hate rather than bypassing the Khalim's Will quest. In addition, 16 different areas have had their monster levels raised to 85 in Hell difficulty, to make it more appealing to players to finish them to earn rewards.
It's enough to say that Diablo 2: Resurrected's 2.4 patch in its current form will offer an entirely new experience in comparison to prior Diablo 2 updates. Blizzard is clearly aiming for Diablo 2 fans to come back and experience a completely new experience. Also, if it proves popular, Blizzard may try even more innovative ideas in the future.
