I'm very excited for this update. I simply don't enjoy our levels will be reset. For someone who just started this year with NA, like me, it really hinders my urge to Phantasy Star Online 2 Meseta keep improving my personality in the edition of PSO2 we have now. I do not mind leveling a new personality and whatnot, however if we are keeping weapons and components we really need to learn how they will be taken over. I would really like to have a couple of good sets of equipment to use in the start but it would be... unfortunate should they nerfed a 13 celebrity weapon to a 3 star or something similar. I could see a 13 dropping to a 12 or 11, maybe even 10 star with valid reasoning and sufficient new gear to locate. However, more than this would be ridiculous. And when affixes aren't carried over it puts a hamper on trying to affix items to be good equipment. Might as well just slap a few decent ones on there for reduced cost and wait patiently until NG comes out to see how they do affixing in it.

They talk in vague terms about stats, affixes, and abilities changing. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they took away a lot of the mill along with other updates players have put in their gear so that veterans have less of an advantage over new players. They might also make entirely new abilities that produce the transfer gear less relevant. Difficult to say. They did say that we might not fulfill the equip requirements of the transport gear for some time after starting NGS, so clearly it won't transfer over as level 1 equipment. I don't think we should put our expectations too high however. I'm going to assume transport gear will either be mid-game equipment or need a lot of updates to be end-game equipment unless they state otherwise.

It was stated that weapons may have different appearances and skills, and might be on your level/ability to use at first. Components aren't likely to cheap PSO2 Meseta have any cosmetics, but still have stats, not exactly the same though.
