Nintendo has released sales figures for the fiscal period ending December 31, 2021, showing that the Pokémon BDSP had the highest opening rate of remakes in the series and is on track to be the best-selling Pokémon remake of all time.

Since its launch on November 19, BDSP has sold 13.97 million units. That makes the game the ninth best-selling first-party game on Nintendo Switch, coming within just over a month of surpassing Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu, Let's Go, Eevee!, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

ORAS is still listed as the best-selling remake of all time with 14.46 million units sold, which means BDSP has likely surpassed it with January sales and will be the best-selling remake in Nintendo's next report Version.

In the same report, SWSH officially became the second-best-selling Pokémon game, surpassing 23.9 million in gold and silver, compared to the Game Boy game's 23.7 million lifetime sales. The Switch also sold more than 100 million units to 103.54 million and outsold the Wii and the original PlayStation.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus was released on January 28. It will be included in the next sales report, along with updated stats for all of Nintendo's other games.
