It's the final day of Madden NFL 22 player rating reveals, and this time we're focused on quarterbacks. Arguably the most important part of a team, the quarterback lineup is certainly strong in this year's player roster, and it includes another 99 club member.
Madden 22 ratings
ESPN and EA Sports will be slowly releasing the player ratings for Madden 22 throughout the week. We'll know the full list of player ratings during a special edition of SportsCenter on Friday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
99 overall players
Davante Adams
Aaron Donald
Travis Kelce
Jalen Ramsey
EA Sports' announcement of the player ratings said a member of the 99 Club will be released each day. Following that lead, we're projecting there will be five players (one for each day of the week) ranked 99 overall. At the end of Madden 21 there were six players in the 99 Club (99 is the highest overall rating Madden). Those players were Patrick Mahomes, Stephon Gilmore, Aaron Donald, Davante Adams, Travis Kelce and DeAndre Hopkins.
Four players finished at 98 overall and those players include Tyreek Hill, Christian McCaffrey, Myles Garrett and Zack Martin. We'd imagine some mix of those players will be involved in the Madden 22 version of the 99 Club. It'll be interesting to see if Mahomes, Kelce and Hill can become a 99 Club trio on the same team.
UPDATE: Packers WR Davante Adams was the first 99 Club player announced on Monday. No other wide receivers received a 99 overall rating, so DeAndre Hopkins has left the 99 Club.
Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald was announced as the next 99 Club member on Tuesday.
Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was announced as the third member of the 99 Club on Wednesday.
Davante Adams, Green Bay PackersDavante Adams has been revealed as the first 99 overall player in Madden 22. Does this mean that EA thinks Davante Adams is the "best" 99 overall player in the NFL? Otherwise, could Davante Adams be thought of as the "worst" 99 overall player as they build-up to the final reveal? Speculations aside, Adams is deserving of earning the first 99 overall rating in Madden 22.
Adams earned 115 receptions for 1374 yards and 18 touchdowns in 2020. Needless to say, without Adams, the Green Bay Packers would not have made it to the NFC championship game.
Aaron Donald
Rams Defensive End Aaron Donald has cemented his spot as the best defensive player in the NFL the last few years. Donald has been in the 99 Club for 5 years straight and shows no signs of slowing down. Donald's brute strength and rushing ability are on display with 99 ratings in strength, awareness, power moves, and play recognition. Donald is the second Rams player included in the 99 Club.
Travis Kelce
Tight End Travis Kelce enters the 99 Club as the second Kansas City Chiefs member, joining his QB Patrick Mahomes. Kelce started last year at a 98 and earned his spot in the 99 Club during last season. Now, he returns to the 99 Club as the best Tight End in Madden 22. Kelce's catching rating sits at 96 and his spectacular catch rating is at 93, so his hands can definitely be relied on.
Jalen Ramsey
Los Angeles Rams Cornerback Jalen Ramsey is the second player to be announced as a 99 overall. Ramsey is widely considered one of the best Cornerbacks in the league and Madden 22 will be his first year in the 99 Club. Although Ramsey does not have the top athletics ratings at Cornerback (92 speed, 91 agility), his coverage ratings are where he stands apart. Ramsey has 99 ratings in awareness, play recognition, man coverage, zone coverage, and press rating.
