The latest Madden game was released this week. It's the latest upgrade to one of the famous sports games. However, PC gamers were disappointed to find out that the Madden NFL 22 PC edition will be the last generation. It will also be missing features from the next generation EA has been pushing for the PlayStation 5 and X360 Series X versions. EA stated that this is because of its focus on next-generation consoles.

As Madden NFL 22 was announced on Thursday, EA listed a number of new features coming to the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions the game that wouldn't be included in the last-gen PS4 and Xbox One releases. The features include new generation stats, improved AI stadium ambience, and enhanced gameplay. The majority of them are included in the "dynamic gameday" feature that EA is adding to Madden 22.

Unfortunately it appears that the PC version will be the PS4/Xbox One version, and not the next-gen version. Sports Gamers Online reached out to EA to get an explanation, and got a reply, but it's not enough to satisfy disappointed PC gamers, who have just begun to receive the Madden games once again in the year 2019.

The official from EA Sports explained that "it's something that's being looked at in the near future." "We're yet to make the process of transitioning to next-gen, and right now the team is focused on providing the best high-quality experience possible on the new consoles before looking to upgrade other platforms."

Although the explanation offers hope that a patch may arrive for Madden 22 on PC after the game's release on the 20th of August however, in this instance "the future" could also refer to the next edition of Madden 23. It's definitely disappointing, particularly in light of the fact that EA made great progress toward creating Madden on PC comparable to consoles which was the case last year.
