The game will also introduce a new playable race, the Dracthyr, that--for the first time in the game's history--can only be a single class, namely the new spellcasting-focused Invoker.

Dragonflight will have a lot to prove after the game's unsatisfactory Shadowlands expansion, but Blizzard is already being learning valuable lessons. Blizzard recently introduced cross-faction groups to WoW for content like dungeons and raids for the first time. They have also been working to incorporate more feedback from players by establishing the player-focused WoW Community Council.

Dragonflight could be the very first WoW expansion to launch since various investigations and lawsuits have been reported about an apparent "frat boy" work environment of Activision Blizzard, which prompted the WoW development team to modify older game WoW content which could have been seen as controversial. Activision Blizzard is currently in the process of getting acquired by Microsoft in an $69 billion deal.
